4. Write up your notes into three mini reports (min 150 words). Each report should contain details of the following.

· Historical Origins and developments within the industry
James Clerk Maxwell, a theoretical physicist who developed a set of equations describing electromagnetic waves. These later later became known as Maxwell's equations.
The early history of radio is the history of technology that produced radio instruments that use radio waves. Within the timeline of radio, many people contributed theory and inventions in what became radio.[1] Radio development began as "wireless telegraphy". Later radio history increasingly involves matters of programming and content.

· Key companies or industry leaders (a range of examples)

- Kiss FM
- Mercury FM
- Magic

- Radio 1
- Smooth Radio
- The Hits
- Capatial FM
- Radio 5 Live
- Non Stop Play
- Virgin Radio
- Jazz FM

· How individuals can get into the industry, i.e. Qualifications needed etc.

No qualifications needed. What's more important is work experience, passion and a tenacious attitude. Ring a community station, volunteer, ring your local commercial station or BBC and apply for voluntary experience. Be a radio producer. You could go to University if you really want a qualification in Radio or go to college and study sound and Radio. Maybe run your own Radio station to get that feeling to see if you really like it.
However, if you want to be a Radio DJ then you do need some Qualifications.
So e.g. you could go to college and study Radio DJing, or get work experience with a local Radio DJ you know.

· Your own interest and evaluation of your chosen industry
I am interest in Radio because i love talking to people about today current fairs and listening to some decent music while your working is pretty cool.
I think this is a fairly easy industy to get into, its just really requires any interest in Radio and the whole music idea.
