Report on Television.

3. You now need to gather some research into the three industries that you may be interested in pursuing after college.

You will need to produce information on the following subjects and print it for your folder (industry section)



· What are the major commercial companies in each Industry? (print copies for your folder)

Television:
BBC 1 2 & 3
ITV,
Channel 4,
Disney channel,


· What types of jobs can you apply for and where could these jobs possibly lead?

i.e. Film (runner) to Film (Camera Person) to Film (Producer) to Film (Director)

Camera Person, Director, and Script writer.


· What type of skills would you need, to apply for a job in each of your chosen industries?

Good english 'well edcuated', Skills in how to work a camera/film.

· Can you find a job or some work experience that is related to your industry of choice? (print a copy for your folder)

4. Write up your notes into three mini reports (min 150 words). Each report should contain details of the following.



· Historical Origins and developments within the industry

BBC Television is a service of the British Broadcasting Corporation which began in 1932. The British Broadcasting Corporation has operated in the United Kingdom under the terms of a Royal Charter since 1927.

· Key companies or industry leaders (a range of examples)


- BBC

- SKY

- Disney Channel

- Channal 4

- Five

- Living TV

- E4


· How individuals can get into the industry, i.e. Qualifications needed etc.

They usually get bu a Qualifiation they achived at college or University.
The Qualifications you may need to get into this in industry is:
A university qualifiation.
A college qualifications.

· Your own interest and evaluation of your chosen industry
I am very interest in this industy because i really want to be an actress, i love the fact of being on stage and performing my heart away.
I think this is not a very easy industry to get into. I think it is very conpetive and hard but its not what you know its who you know. Thats what they say it is to get into this industy. Its very challenging but with right heart of mind you will get into it.

Media Sectors

The Media Industry is made up of numbers of different sectors:
The Media Sectors:
Moving Image:
T.V. film
Audio:
Radio, talking books and guides ,sound of interactive Media.
Print:
Newspapers, Magazines, posters, flyers.
Interactive media:
Websites, Videos, Games, CD Roms.
Adverstising and Marketing:
In print, T.V. radio film.

What is the Media Industry?

Producers: The producers create contentfor the audience to consume. Such as: Walt Disney, Granada.


Distributors: The distributors the content that the producers have made so you can watch it.
BBC 1 2 3 and 4.

Regulators: OF COM (TV REGULATIONS)


BBFC (BRITSH BOARD FILM CLASSFICTION)
